Hi all, currently trying to travel from Bangkok to Chiang Mai but unsure if there are restrictions as we are unvaccinated.

Airline website says Chaing Mai require Covid vaccinations but then upon entering Thailand it says you have freedom to go anywhere in the kingdom once you’ve done Thai pass, negative test etc.

Can anyone please help clarify? Also willing to take train/bus but not sure if they also require vaccine or test beforehand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers are currently not facing restrictions for domestic travel in Thailand regardless of vaccination status. While some travelers have reported needing to show vaccination certificates at check-in or upon arrival in certain provinces, many others have successfully traveled domestically without any documentation besides their passport. It is recommended to remain aware that although the primary rules allow for travel, local establishments, including transportation services and attractions, may have their own requirements regarding vaccination proof.

I also have recently been asked for vaccine certificate to get on buses, minivans, into blue tree waterpark and even some national parks.

I have been asked for the vaccine certificate at high end and mid range resorts aswell as some high end restaurants.

I was asked for vacvine certificate to get to phi phi, maya bay and island hoping tour in krabi.

My point is do not be surprised if your limited to what u can do being unvaccinated here in Thailand.

Yes things are changing now.....but slowly.

Maybe it’s not as simple as some other commenters say. I flew to Loei province recently and I was asked for my vaccination certificate on check-in at the airport. Luckily I had it with me in, but I have no idea what would have happened if i could not show them - denied boarding - who knows? Upon arrival in Loei, local provincial staff were again checking vaccination credentials at the airport, however I get the impression that I could have put anything in front of them that looked vaguely official and they would have just smiled and let me in (I have a foreign vaccination certificate).

During the checkin I was quite forthright with my comments about not having been alerted in advance about this requirement and I have since checked the Air Asia website and nothing is mentioned . Oh well, TIT 🤷‍♀️

I am not vaccinated and flew from Pattaya to Phuket on Tuesday. You only need a passport for domestic flight. Negative PCR result and/or vaccination certificate is not needed

Currently there are no restrictions for domestic travel. Vaxxed or not.
