TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian friend with a 2-month tourist visa ending on June 14 cannot apply for a normal 30-day extension. While he may have been stamped in for 60 days, the current policies do not allow for a standard extension based on tourism, especially since the COVID-19 extensions are no longer available as borders are open.

sorry, but no. He can not get a 30 day Extension of Stay based on tourism.

The 60 Day Extension of Stay based on being unable to travel is a decision of the Immigration Officer as landborders are open and people do leave from airports to foreign countries.

Suggest he ask his local Thai immigration office.

is correct...

If he has a tourist visa he purchased in India he will be STAMPED IN for 60 days and is eligible for 7 day extension. 1900 Thai baht from the local Thai immigration office.
