Hey I need some help understanding the options for a 30day extension for a Indian passport holder.

I got granted a Thailand tourist visa for 3 months starting February 1st till end April before I left India. on my arrival I got the 60 day stamp on my passport beside my visa when passing immigration. I now need to extend my visa till the 18th of April but the travel agency in Koh Tao said I can only get a 7 day extension (that would be up to April 7). Online it said the 7 day rule only applies to tourist visa on arrival but if I have a 60 day stamp and a valid visa till end April should I not be eligible for a 30 day extension?

Is there any other way?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian passport holder with a Thailand tourist visa has limited options for extending their stay. Initially granted a 60-day stamp on entry, it appears the travel agency in Koh Tao only offers a 7-day extension. However, the individual has discovered alternative methods, such as extending for another 15 days through a visa run to Myanmar. The costs associated with extension and visa runs have been outlined, indicating that returning to India for a new visa application may be a more straightforward solution.

Thank you all so much for the advice. So I just got back this morning and here is what I’ve learnt...

For Indian passport holders, if you get a visa in India before arriving in Thailand you can get up to 2 months stay on tourist visa.

You can the extend it a week before your visa ends by 7 days in Koh Samui

- cost of visa 1900 + travel and stay 3600 approximately

And you can further extend it by 15 days on the last day of your visa by doing a visa run.

To Burma 2900 all inclusive (travel + 10$ for visa in mayanmar and visa application back in Thailand) this is a one night half day trip.

So for 22 days you will end up spending 6500 TBH. Better to get back home and re apply and get 30 days

After the visa run you anyway need to go back to India and reapply for a tourist visa again after 15 days of staying in home country.
