Dear Expats,
I am planning to apply for a tourist visa from Vietnam. As I know, I just need to apply for Evisa only starting from Jan 1 2025.
When I checked the website, I found the required documents to apply for the TR visa below. Earlier, I thought I needed to show proof of financial assets (bank statements) as well.
Do we still need to show bank statements and other documents in the new system (apart from those in the picture)?
Does anyone know the processing time via the new system for tourist visas as I need to prepare the accommodation?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the necessity of submitting bank statements when applying for a tourist visa (TR visa) to Thailand through the new e-visa system coming into effect on January 1, 2025. Several comments clarify that there has not been a financial requirement for a tourist e-visa for some time and that applicants typically only need to provide the documents explicitly requested. Additionally, it is mentioned that visitors can enter Thailand with a 60-day stay upon arrival, extendable by 30 days, which further raises questions about the need for a tourist visa.
