Hi,
Also planning on applying for the METV but trying to figure out the timing with my visit.
Do you know if the 6 months starts the day you enter Thailand or from when the approval was issued ?
Gary Chin time starts when the issue visa, best time i could say is 14 business days before but make sure you do everything correctly, it also can depend where you go through i always go through Washington DC.
I’m a going through the METV process now. One question I am trying to clarify. Am I able to come back into Thailand for another 60 day (with possible 30 day extension) if I enter the country a few days prior to the original 6 month visa expiring which would essentially give me 8 months (or 9 months with final extension) on the METV. In other words, are you able to enter Thailand and stay beyond the 6 month period because your final entry occurred prior to the 6 month visa expiring. Appreciate and insights from others who may have attempted this with their METV.
Michael Donnelly everything I've read is that you have 6 months to enter and then can stay 60 days from entry date. I don't know if it applies to METV or only visa exempt entries, but I've heard they seem to cap total stay at 157 days in a calendar year just to make sure only retirement visa folks are staying long enough to qualify as tax residents.
Key things I did was take a passport style photo with white background. Have arrival and departure tickets. Had my condo lease for 60 days and 6 months both, showed 4 months of bank account since it was done at end of month right before August, took picture of bio data on passport, took picture of driver license for proof of location. Also if this helps bank account wasn't under $8k any of the months but was told $2k was what they were looking for.
Hi! Could you let me know what you provided for "3. Document indicating current location (e.g., valid visa, receipt(s)/proof(s) of payment of airline tickets or accommodation, etc.)*"? I'm not flying directly from the U.S. to Thailand, so my airline tickets won't make sense to submit
