Hi, does anyone have a recent experience of getting the 60 day tourist visa from Singapore? I have to leave by next Weds night. I'm desperate to avoid going to Laos. Can I go to Singapore instead?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the process of obtaining a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand from Singapore, with one user suggesting that traveling to Phnom Penh could be a cheaper alternative than applying in Singapore. Additionally, users mention the need to apply via the online application process for the Thai consulate in Singapore and express concerns about visa approval and the necessity of booking flights before receiving confirmation of the visa.
Go to Phnom Penh and apply there. It's only a 55 min flight from Bangkok which is cheaper than flying to Singapore and hotels, transport and food is just as cheap as in Thailand. Singapore is expensive if you have to hang around and wait for your visa to be issued
HI Todd I have flown in more than once to PNH on the first Air Asia flight on a Monday, handed in application before midday Monday, and picked up Wednesday afternoon at 3.30pm in time to make the evening flight back to DMK...And duh you are right it's 3 days including the submission day you are right hehehe
It's two days to get your passport back from most consulate in the area (turn it in one morning pick it up the next day = 2 days)
it's 3 days to get it back from the consulate in phnom penh (turn it in one day pick it up TWO days later =3 days)
Now you're just speculating on the increase of financial requirements and I would imagine you have not one single shred of proof that it will or won't happen. So let's keep the rumor mill turned off for now okay? ;)
It's safe to say there are a LOT of consulates in S/E Asia that are easier to deal with than the one in Phnom Penh. ;)
actually 2 days I have done it more than once there.... It's only a matter of time before all the regional embassies and consulates will start asking for the $1000 and in my opinion, for good reason with all these back packers coming to Thailand and then running out of money and begging on a street corner. But yes I did forget about the new $1000 requirement ;)

of course you left out the fact that you show 1000 USD in a bank account, proof of onward travel AND that the thai consulate in Phnom Penh takes 3 days to get your passport back to you :O

Just checked their web page: 3. Travel tickets in and out of Thailand.
You can apply with using the online system in Singapore today, wait for approval, fly to Singapore, hand over the documents and pick up the visa next working day.

???? Tourist visa and a fulltime job, does not sound good.
Haha I work full-time and this is just a visa run, I have to leave by next Wednesday so I'm guessing that won't be enough time to apply and wait for them to accept or reject

The hard life of a tourist, to busy sightseeing so don't really have time
Thanks, I've seen this link, I'm just worried about whether I will get rejected as I need to book the flight now. Do I have to pay first and then lose my money if it gets rejected? Am I likely to get rejected because I don't have a flight out of Thailand? Thanks for any help!

you APPLY first, and if you're approved you take the hard copies of your documentation to the consulate and pay for the visa.
I certainly wouldn't book a ticket until you KNOW if you're gonna get the visa, because there are times when people applied then flew there but didn't get approved right away and ended up waiting there for a few days to get approved BEFORE they could go get the visa from the consulate

you scan and submit your documentation and they send you an approval email and let you know when you can go there to get the visa.

You apply for ALL visas at the thai consulate in Singapore via their online application process. You CANNOT walk up to the consulate and apply for a tourist visa anymore.
