This might be useful to those using the services of the Chiang Rai Immigration, especially Non-O Visa based on Thai Child.
Came into Thailand with a Non-O Single Entry 90-Days based on having a Thai Child in April and extended it for another 60 days at the immigration. I exited via Mae Sai Checkpoint at the end of the 150 days and bounced back on the same day with a visa-exempt 30-days entry.
Went to Chiangrai Immigration today to apply for an Extension of Stay and was given the below options (which may be useful for those who are in the same situation).
Option 1 - 30 days extension (Just like any other tourists that entered with Visa exempt, applying the extension of stay ) - THB 1900
Documents required - Photocopies of Passport, TM6, entry stamp, Passport size photo + filled up forms (TM7+STM.2+Acknowledgement of Penalties for a visa overstay)
Option 2 - 60 days extension (based on having a Thai Child) - THB 1900
Documents required - Same as Option 1 + photocopies of tabien baan of mother & child, ID of mother, birth certificate.
Note: You cannot extend for another 30 days once you chosen this. Meaning at the end of your extension, you have to exit the country.
Option 3 - 60 + 30 days extension (based on having a Thai Child) - THB 3800
Documents required - Same as Option 2
---
There is a volunteer that sits at the entrance. Good to let her have a run thru of the required documents again, just to be doubly sure and she will issue you the correct Q ticket. The photocopy kiosk is a walking distance away at another compound.
In all, it will be a 270 days stay in the country.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post shares information about the options for extending a Non-O visa in Chiang Rai, specifically for expats with Thai children. Three extension options are outlined: a 30-day extension for THB 1900, a 60-day extension requiring additional documents also for THB 1900, and a combined 60 + 30 days extension for THB 3800. Each option has specific documentation requirements. The poster advises verifying requirements with the immigration office, as regulations may vary.

OKay I re-read your post. You could have left out the part where you HAD an previous Non-O visa because when you bounced out and back in you came in on a 30 day visa exempt..
You're correct, many offices will let you get the 30 day extension (that you can get on a 30 day visa exempt entry) and after that get the 60 day visit family extension as well.
BUT
Check with your immigration office, some only allow you to do one extension or the other NOT both
