I was aware that a few "rogue" (offices that do their own thing) had the bank letter the same day as the application, BUT I didn't think Chiang Mai was one of them "

AND many banks you cant update the bank book without doing a transaction (either a withdrawal or deposit) meaning IF you got the letter first THEN went to update your bank book the amounts wouldn't match.

There is NO rule AT ALL that the two numbers have to match (not in the least) only that BOTH need to be above the amount required for your extension
@Julian ****
are you sure you didn't have a lost in translation event about the letter, bank book matching?

I am exhausted with frustration but yet has to bear it with a smile. The people there simply have their ways. Pointless to explain for they will never understand the different of 1012baht in a few m baht 😠. They even told me to reprint my wife ID because the printed size don’t match with original . I guessed it is not my day.

sorry to hear of your difficulties, good luck with it.

that's wrong size copies a common thing, They have to be "original sized" and can't be bigger or smaller 😮

I've seen people get sent away to make more copies for that reason here in Bangkok.

Non O visa what? Thai family? marriage to a thai wife? Retirement?

I guess you apply for this visa based on being married to a Thai National.

1. yes and be aware that after 60 days you can apply for a 1 year Extension of Stay but than the minimum of 400.000 Thb needs to be at least 2 months on that account.

2. yes

3. Yes, you need an address as the Immigration is going to visit that address to see if your marriage is de jure and de facto.

I understand that rule No. 1 is for CM only? In CW@BKK the letter and statement can be up to one week old, just the bank book must be updated on the day of application.

some offices want tthe day of application, others 1 or 2 days old and there are even offices who say 1 week old is okay.

That is the reason why we always tell, get the hand out with requirements first at your local office.

cm don't have a handout.

they have it STUCK to the wall INSIDE the office someone posted an image of it the other day, you can go there, find the correct paper stuck to the wall and take a photo of it
