Hi , Does anyone know if applying in Penang Thai consulate for a Non O visa based on retirement, what docs do we need? Do they ask for police report and medical cert ? They  specified in their website that they need those docs? Thank you.

Where do I get these certs ? i am living in Chiang Mai now and will be going to Penang and Singapore. I am from Sg and mu husband is from Spain.

Yeap. It just means alittle more hassle getting these done before going to Penang but if they require it,I have to get it done here.

that is usually required ONLY for people getting a Non-B visa for teaching. Other types of Non-Immigrant visas only require a back ground check from either your country or thailand.

I just read the Penang website and they state that medical cert from my Origin country and police record from Malaysia. See attached application check list.

you get a medical certificate from any clinic or hospital and you get the police back ground check from the Special Branch Police division.

This is the website for the Bangkok location, but I believe they have an office in Chiang Mai too (you'd have to post on a chiang mai related f/b group to find out where it is).

I would say IF it states on their website that you need it, have it. I know that the thai consulate in Vientiane started making people have a medical certificate and a police background report earlier this year for Non-O visas based on being over 50.
