Is a PCR test booked for 72 hours before departure sufficient for entry into Thailand given that a new test is required on arrival?

Hey guys, last question here: I booked a PCR test on the 23rd 15:20 - my flight arrives in BKK 26th 15:00 would that be ok? I did not manage to book other test time cuz of Christmas! Does it matter since I'll have to do a new test on arrival?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post inquires whether a PCR test scheduled for 15:20 on the 23rd, ahead of a flight arriving in Bangkok on the 26th at 15:00, meets Thailand's entry requirements regarding testing within 72 hours of departure, particularly since a new test is required upon arrival. The responses clarify that the relevant timeframe for testing is based on the time of the test, not the results, as long as it is within the 72-hour period before departure.

yes thats fine, time starts ticking when you get your results.

But check with your airline also

PCR companies inform me that the time of the test (not result) to departure must be within 72 hours.

Go to your local Thai embassy web page and check what Thailands requirements are.

The rule is 72 hours before departure, not arrival time. So you are fine.

Time is from results of test till you depart, so plenty of time

Thanks for clariying this.

I read the comments, the guys had 40 minutes more than 72 hours out of the check-in! nothing easy 21 century!
