I’ve had my TR visa through today. One question about your PCR test are they valid at the time of when you head the test itself or when results come back? Going to be a tight window with flight. If anyone has any experience that would be great

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the validity of PCR test results required for travelers flying to Thailand. It clarifies that the test results must be less than 72 hours old from the time of departure, not the time the test was taken. Various individuals shared their experiences and discrepancies in information from different Embassies regarding this requirement, indicating that it is essential to check the specific guidelines provided by the relevant authorities.

Don’t forget it’s RT-PCR test

People really should state what county they are in as it seems every one is different. My results in England came back with the time I took the test on them.

I spoke to the Thai embassy in New York today to clarify and it is indeed as the website says, the RESULTS need to be 72 hours, not the actual test
Jared **********
This is off the DC site, “test result issued”, same wording for NY and that’s why I called to check....the whole thing is just a hot mess

@Ja***
yet the DC Embassy says test day..
Jared **********
it would be pretty easy and simple if it was different to say” covid test AND result within 72 hours”

Results 72hours before first flight departure

You have to have test less than 72 hours before flying, so you must have results the same..

@Kathy ***************
this is wrong. Must have results within 72 hours.

@Kathy ***************
having the results and taking the test aren’t mutually exclusive
Michael *********
From the time you do the test. Did mine today with Unilabs (in Switzerland) and got the result 7h later on the same day
Lee *********
Ok then. Let them take there test too early. No problem.
Tony *******
Lee Brookes yeah, there’s no such thing as taking the test too early.
Lee *********
It's all confusing I agree but I'm stating how mine came back. The time on mine was when I took the test.

@Lee ********
I believe you. And I believe you took your test within 72 hours. I’m just stating what the Thai immigration rules are. That’s what people need to know. Not anecdotes from individual people. You’re stating that I am wrong, which I am not.
Lee *********
I'm in quarantine. I'm not lying.
Lee *********
@Tony ******
you are wrong if you are in the UK it's from when you take the test. Maybe different elsewhere

👍🏻

@Michael ********
this is wrong. It’s from when results are issued.
Michael *********
@Tony ******
no it’s not

I was even reading the other day that a guy from this group was denied boarding because he took the test more than 72h before, but his result were within 48h. Just think about it, that makes no sense whatsoever to look at the time the results are issued. They want people that are certified covid free for 3 days at the latest therefore the moment you took the test is what matters

lots of things don’t make sense. It is what it is. The rules are the rules. Not that it matters but I took my test about 100 hours before my flight. Almost surely, there was another reason he was denied. Like his test not specifying RTPCR

@Michael ********
yes it is i flew to work and its from the time results are issued
