URGENT: Has anyone had any issues with their Covid PCR test being outside of the 72 hour mark? my understanding was that you had to get your RESULTS within 72 hours of first international departure. The website says it has to be conducted AND get results within 72 hours of first flight. if thats the case, then i am off by 2 hours(test was taken 74 hours before first flight). Is this something they let slide? Or have they enforced this pretty heavily? I'm headed to thailand tomorrow.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler is concerned about their Covid PCR test results being 74 hours before their international flight, which exceeds the 72-hour requirement for entering Thailand. Community responses emphasize the importance of adhering to the 72-hour rule, which is enforced by airlines, and suggest considering obtaining a new test as airlines may deny boarding. Users shared personal experiences, highlighting that strict adherence to timing is often required and recommended reaching out for a new test to avoid any issues.

Right now go get a test. You’ll feel a lot less stress. Sucks you have to deal with this.

Emirates website states, specifically for the Phuket Sandbox, 72hrs from the result.

Which website are you referring to? The Thai Embassy or the airline. Whichever; which embassy or which airline?

You will not be able to board with a test that is more than 72 hours...

Correct....within 72 hours of the flight depature

You will need a new test.. If purchased airline tickets from airline they should let you change flight some charge some do not... Find the nearest CVS and when making an appointment click that you may have been exposed and it should not charge you for test.

They are 100% by the book

For Thailand it's the time you get the results to first departure... But most people recommend considering your first international flight as that's when they check the documents.... check your airline as they might (likely) have stricter rules. For example Singapore requires 48hrs from swab time.

On ASQ rules it says result issued within 72 hours. Mine was like that last july for ASQ when it took a lot longer to get results.

I just came in on sandbox and sandbox rules are take test and get results within 72 hours.

But its also airlines as well insisting on 72 hours. Also anyone transiting singapore has to have within 48 hours

You are not making it any clearer by saying ' rules are take test and get results within 72 hours'! Which was it for Sandbox? 72hrs from 'take test' or 72hrs from 'get results'???

@Terry *******
As said sandbox rules are take test and get results within 72 hours. To me that means all within the 72 hour timeframe as compared with the other example which was get results within 72 hours. You have to read it all. But English is not my mother tongue

@Michael *******
so you're saying 72 hours before your first flight but really depends on your airplane. Probably safer to get it within 30 hours

in my area it takes 3-5 days to get results on the most reliable method, the nose bleed. Rapid test is within ten minutes. I also heard major airports now have it available. Make sure about that.

yes closer to flight time is best,

Sadly you might be denied. Had a friend get denied 1hr over coming from US on JAL airlines. It's not Thailand who denies you, it's the airlines. I would call their customer service ASAP. Also if you have time I would call a site that does the test and pay whatever their ridiculous price is to get results ASAP. They can literally give you results in 20 min if they wanted to.

Only one way to find out, it’s only a global pandemic.

You should probably see if you have options to get a new test.
