TLDR : Answer Summary
When looking for health insurance while on a Digital Tourist Visa (DTV) in Thailand, it's essential to assess your specific needs, whether short-term emergency care or comprehensive lifetime coverage. Researching different insurance companies is vital, as their policies can vary significantly, and the fine print can be complicated. It is recommended to read policies carefully and explore brokers to find the best deals. Some reputable options mentioned include Allianz for transparency, Safety Wing for flexibility, and Tenzing Pacific as a specialized broker. It's also beneficial to consult with experienced agents or brokers to find plans that fit your circumstances.

Buy a proper policy from a western company who you can sue in a country where they have a reputation to uphold and not some crap commission based policy from the wife or girlfriend of some barhop.

Safety Wing. Can toggle it on and off and not pay when you don’t need it. Digital nomad insurance. You can add a tech package on too so all your devices are covered from theft or damage. Premium depends on your age and if your have health conditions. But I’ve always found it cheap.

I did a tonne of research on this earlier in the year. It really depends what you’re looking for, short term emergency or lifetime cover on all ailments and everything inbetween.

One thing I was shocked to find is how different each of the insurance companies are and how much of the small print is out to get you … before signing anything read through the policy with your best lawyers hat on.

Also, beware some of the brokers, in many instances their prices were higher than going direct and it was evident several times that their own commission was a greater priority than my future healthcare.

I ended up going with Allianz as they were the most transparent, giving me the peace of mind I needed.

hi steve. Thanks for the detailed response. I'd prefer pretty comprehensive cover via my company.

When you say Allianz were the most transparent, can you go into more detail by what you mean?
