Hello, my apologies. I’m sure this question has been asked many times. I will be living in Bangkok starting next month. I’ve signed a lease. Can anyone please provide me an agent/agency that can help me with a retirement one year visa? I have talked to one agency and their fee was about $5000.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the search for a reliable agency to obtain a retirement visa in Thailand, specifically in Bangkok. The original poster was quoted $5000 by one agency, prompting comments from other users suggesting more affordable options. Recommendations include contacting the Thai Visa Centre, which charges around $1000 for a retirement visa and extension, and applying for the Non-O visa from their home country for better rates. Several users shared their experiences regarding agency fees, the visa process, and the importance of securing a banking arrangement for the visa application.

I can believe 18, 28, 32 K THB for 1 year extension. I have one stamp like that, 32K THB, multi entry.

A guy in the car, together to open a bank account, paid 54,000 THB, on no any visa at all, 60 days visa exemption.

@Jim ******
Our rate for 1 year extension is

- Yearly Retirement Visa Ext : 14,000 thb

- Multiple Entry : 4,000 thb

= 18,000 thb

I may come back to your agency upon next visa extension. My idea of retiring in Thailand is never tobe busy one more minute of my life. And, you are great service.

I was quoted 37,000 for non O and renewal so 15 months

You signed a lease without the retirement visa?

How long was the lease? What if you are unsuccessful in getting the visa.

by the way, I am taking a risk, but I’m hoping that I will be successful in getting a retirement visa worst case scenario 60 day with an extension 30 days.

six months. I’ll just do the 60 day with a 30 day extension or just do 60 days and leave the country. I also live in Vietnam.

If you are not in Thailand yet you should first apply for your non-o based on retirement which can usually be done through

Once you have done that it will be easy to open a bank account, and then you can use an agency, or apply on your own for an extension.

If you come here only with a exempt entry, or tourist visa the costs to transition to a retirement visa can be quite expensive.

For example we charge around 55,000 to 60,000 thb for the following from a exempt entry / tourist visa:

- Bank Account Opening

- 3 Month Non-O

- 1 Year Extension based on Retirement

@George ****
Does that price include some sort of accommodation, or flight?

162,000 thb seems extremely excessive, our all-in-one services which include bank account, non-o, and a yearly extension do not exceed 60,000 thb.

But as mentioned if possible you can save a lot by just applying for your non-o before you come to Thailand.

right now I’ve been staying in Vietnam for four months and I will be going back this week and then returning on August to finalize my lease and final inspection. I don’t mind paying the fee I would rather have a professional/expert complete the visa for me.

It’s a lot cheaper if you get the initial 90 none O visa before you come. Also depends if you want them to front you the 800,000. My friend has just had a price of 28,000 baht, for a multi entry visa.

@Nigel ******
I came to Bangkok on Non O visa, 90 days. The agency fixed it all, I do not know how, bank account and the 1 year visa stamp in my passport.

No money in my bank, only 390 THB.

$5000 USD? CDN? 😲 Regardless, I recommend you get in contact with Thai Visa Centre.
Jim *******
@Kevin *****
I already got my retirement visa with them, stamped in my passport.

@Jim ******
were you pleased with the service ?
Jim *******
@Kevin *****
In a way, yes. It was within 2 business days. there is more to come.

The adrress they used is in in the sticks, they told me where it is.

That has to be changed.
Pete *******
Simply do it yourself, 2k baht for the visa and 1900baht for the yearly extension.
Jim *******
It is about 54,000 THB with an agency. I paid 34,000 THB while another customer of theirs paid 54,000 THB. Maybe, I had eThai visa, 90 days. The other guy had nothing, like a tourist, just 60 days stay.

WTF? Talk to
@THAI *****************************
. They’ll charge around $1,000 for the first 15 months (visa plus 12 month extension) and then around $400 per year after that for each extension.

@Stuart ********
this is about the honest most rate out there. Right after covid the fees were this and now It seems it has double and triple with fly my night agencies. I would point stay from bangkok bank if you still need to get a bank. It won't be possible with them to work with agency now
Paul *********
@Stuart ********
Why 400 for renewal? Seems quite a lot when it's only 1900bt?
Mma *******
@Paul ********
because its thru an Agent.
Paul *********
@Mma ******
no need for rip off price though. I get the 1st one, but renewal? Way too expensive. Would put me off using.
