Hi everyone,

I’m an American currently in Thailand looking to apply for a Non-O Retirement Visa (age 65). I’m considering using an agency to assist with the process for peace of mind and to reduce stress.

Could anyone here share what the *average cost* should be for an agency to handle this process?

Thanks so much for any guidance! 🙏

An American seeking a Non-O Retirement Visa in Thailand has asked about the average cost of hiring an agency for assistance. Community responses indicate prices ranging from 12,500 to 40,000 THB for initial application and extensions, plus suggestions for DIY processes which can save money. Some users recommend agencies known for efficiency, while others advocate handling the visa process independently.

Get the OA visa which doesn't require money to be put into a Thai bank account, and once you're in Thailand, start transferring 65k each month into Thailand, and after 12 months, bounce out and in, and get the non-O visa, then continue using the 65k per month method.

Alternatively, get the DTV. Best visa option if you intend travelling regularly

Question on non-o retirement visa and agency use. Can I use and agency, say in Bangkok, when I plan on living in Lamphun? Will that create complications?

Yes, we have many clients which use us in Lamphun.

If you wish to switch to not using an agency you simply need to file a TM30, which is something we also can assist with.

I currently live/work in South Korea. US citizen. I am currently 64 years old and wish to retire to Thailand with my Thai wife with-in the next 18 months. Would I have to apply for the 30 day visa at the Royal Thai Embassy here in South Korea? Or can I apply on line? I have so many questions.

ALL Thai visas are now done online. But it would still be processed by the embassy where you are, so the Thai embassy in South Korea.

I was the same as you undecided. I got some great advice on this group and decided to do it myself. I entered Thailand on a Non O 90 day visa . Everything just fell into place, it's really not that difficult. Immigration are more than willing to help.

12,500 thb. Manareets in Pattaya next to pôst office- across The street, is the best! No hassles and they do everything for you and. One has to just take a picture at immigration in jomtien that takes a few minutes after you get there. Highly recommended. I can meet all requirements but don’t want to wait long time to find out I missed something. Manareet soi post office .

Prices may differ if you use your own banked funds and just use the agent as paper pushers.

In my case I contacted 3 of the most reputable. Prices I was quoted were the same with my funds or their funds. This led me to do it myself.
