- Visarun/Boarderrun ?

Where is the best Contact in Pattaya.
Answer summary
The discussion explores various options for extending a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) without the need to fly out of Thailand. Suggestions include traveling by van to Laos from Pattaya at costs ranging from 7,500 to 7,900 Baht. Some participants mention the possibility of bus trips to Laos or Malaysia, while others suggest that flying to a nearby country can often be cheaper and quicker than a van ride. There is also a mention of VIP services, but overall, the conversation highlights mixed opinions on the best method for visa runs.

I agree. OP said he doesn't want to fly because he fears being denied reentry at airports. However, there are no such verifiable reports.

Best cheapest way to extend DTV without fly out is to extend at local immigration first then do border run.

For DTV you can get extension for six months at immigration office for one thousand nine hundred baht before your current one eighty days end. This way you can stay almost one year with one entry. After that you need to do border bounce to get new one eighty days. Border run is cheaper than fly out and still counts as new entry for DTV.

In Pattaya many use Cambodia border run services like Poipet or Ban Laem. They pick up early morning and return same day. Look for services in Pattaya Facebook groups or near Soi Buakhao agencies with good reviews and license. Make sure they know DTV rules and give you re entry time. Avoid very cheap vans with no paperwork.

For full list of Pattaya border run contacts and how to extend DTV at Jomtien immigration you can read Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon. It has price guide and what to bring to avoid extra fees.

If your reason for visa is legit then nothing to worry about, you still have to deal with immigration at land borders and it looks more suspicious that you’re doing border runs since technically it’s not a visa for residence.

Why don't you just take one week vacation I go somewhere cheap?

I don't understand the excessive wanting to stay Thailand and never leave unless you're working illegally here...

But with DTV Visa you should either be working remotely not for Thailand or have some other course here or do medical stuff...

I think suspiciousness is a very subjective notion... And really depends on your location... I have done 6 out of 7 of my DTV trips across a land border... Simply because a trip to Malaysian border is 8 hours in a train and walk across... a trip by plane is 4 hours drive to Bangkok, 2-hours waiting at the airport, 1.5 hours flight... Same total time, much more hassle. And if your visa is legit, you dont really need to worry about what might seem suspicious in someone’s subjective opinion

OP is trying to skirt around immigration and there’s a difference between going in and out for a few minutes vs taking a trip for a few days. DTV is a tourist visa, if you’re only stepping out and coming right back in you’re technically not a tourist you’re just living on the visa and using a loophole to reset your visa. Just my opinion and I do believe it will raise suspicion and make the IO ask questions.

It's literally cheaper and faster to fly to any nearby city and back, than to pay an agent 7000+ to sit in a van for 12 hours.

But it's way better to spend 2-3 days somewhere and make it a mini-vacation instead of a visa run.

i do this 3 times already always with fasttrack 2000 baht, but now they want 8000 for fasttrack and i will not pay this.

I have 3 Friends with dtv and 2 of them get denied the entry last time.

They have money they have 12 month rental contract they bought condos here. No chance that i do this same again.

TurquoiseOstrich6737 you just sound dodgy man. There is no problem with normal DTV holders entering.

Maybe everyone trying to act dodgy makes them seem dodgy.

Also, an immigration officer at a land boarder and one at an airport can both still deny you.

TurquoiseOstrich6737 if you get stressed by airports, then I guess sitting in a van is better for you.

But there haven't been any reports of DTV holders not being let in. It's just agents spreading fear to sell their border runs and vip fast tracks. And I guess it's working.

U guys all fly out ? Is there not a VIP Service available ? Like a Van or Car alone for example ?
Gerry ********

TurquoiseOstrich6737 I'm pretty sure you're exposing yourself to greater risk by doing border runs by land. If your DTV was applied for by yourself, legitimately and you still meet the application criteria, there's nothing to worry about.

Going on trips out of Thailand occasionally is normal behaviour.

Border runs in a van is not.

TurquoiseOstrich6737 Bus to BKK, Flight to Malaysia or Vietnam tomorrow, cheap hotel overnight is about the same and you're not spending 12 hours in a bus. I just checked it on JustTravel.io and compared the actual cost.
