The conversation discusses various humorous and serious ways to do a border bounce from Jomtien, Thailand, primarily focusing on the Poipet border crossing. While some comments joke about bouncing using trampolines or pogo sticks, others emphasize the importance of using a reliable service to avoid complications. Several users advise against crossing the Poipet border solo due to potential risks of being denied re-entry into Thailand. Ultimately, it's suggested to use a visa run company, with costs typically around 2900 baht.
it takes nearer 4 hours l used it but i was there all day it's a very slow process seems like they want to keep you there so you spend all day in the market π
It's not good advising someone to use the poipet border (for a laugh and a joke I presume) you could send that person unknowingly to that border and they get denied entry trying to bounce back into Thailand, people are here for serious advice, it could cause them big problems.
There's posts on here saying Pogo sticks and soft mattresses and yet you have a go at me for suggesting a tried and tested land border? Interesting......
I'm not having a go, I'm just pointing out it could cause someone a big problem, the ones suggesting pogo sticks and soft mattress are obviously joking, you're a regular on these expat pages, someone could take your response seriously thinking you're knowledgeable.
I know personally two people who have carried out successful border bounces at Poipet in the last two months. One with a transport company and one solo. The only people having difficulties are those with a long history of staying in Thailand (apparently Poipet uses an unofficial 180 days in a year guideline) or those with an array of the so-called "covid extensions". For genuine tourists there is no problem, and much of the bad publicity has been generated by "permanent tourists"
I haven't had any personal experience with the poipet border myself, I just see regular posts on these expat pages, stating that it should be avoided altogether if possible, because it is one of the more difficult borders to come into Thailand through, as far as I'm aware, we don't know his history to suggest he would be okay to bounce there solo anyway, I believe the border bounce companies are a safe bet. But I didn't know it's mainly people with a history of trying to live in Thailand on free stamps etc, that are having the most problems.
I can only go by the OP's post. If he doesn't share full information he's not going to get accurate answers and realistically we can hypothesise all day long. If he has his shit together, Poipet will be fine
must book and pay a "Visarun Company", they bounce you at Pong Nam Ron or Poipet/Aranyapathet. BEWARE: Don't try to bounce into Cambodia by yourself, you run the risk to be refused re-entry into Thailand and will have to travel to Siem Reap and fly back to Thailand
