What are the acceptable proofs of address for renewing a British passport in Thailand?

Hi everyone,

I’m a British citizen living in Thailand and I’m planning to renew my UK passport from here.

I read this article from Pattaya Mail about the process, and it mentions that proof of address in Thailand must be from the Thai or UK government (like a Thai driving licence, pink residency card, or correspondence from a UK authority).

I don’t have a Thai driving licence or a pink ID card — only a TM30 from my landlord showing my registered address.

For anyone who has *recently* renewed their British passport from within Thailand, was the TM30 enough as proof of address, or did you have to get something else (like a letter from immigration, bank, or local council)?

Any tips or recent experience would really help. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British citizen in Thailand is seeking advice on acceptable proof of address for renewing their passport. They only have a TM30 from their landlord and are curious if it suffices or if alternatives, like bank statements or letters from immigration, are needed. Responses from the community suggest that a TM30 alongside a landlord confirmation letter is adequate, and bank statements printed in English are also acceptable.

Just done mine. A TM30 was used and a letter of confirmation from the landlord. They said a bank statement showing the address and your name would also be a good thing

Why wouldn't a residency certificate from Immigration work?

A bank letter is fine, as long as it shows your address in English.
