TLDR : Answer Summary
The thread discusses the use of websites that offer 'onward tickets', which are tickets allowing travelers to meet immigration requirements without committing to travel. Several users confirm that these tickets are legitimate, as they are issued by travel agencies with real PNR numbers. While some argue the tickets are not fake, others suggest that booking a real ticket, even for a low cost, is a more secure option. Experiences vary, with many travelers noting they have not been asked for proof of onward travel during their journeys. The conversation highlights various websites offering these services and presents differing opinions on the necessity of having a confirmed onward ticket.

just used one and it was perfect. We paid 30 Canadian for it and had to show it three times in Halifax Canada, Heathrow and Vienna.
your personal experience is irrelevant. Like someone saying that they have been driving drunk for years and never been fined.

Thanks for the compliment, but it is also irrelevant.
Airlines may refuse you to board if you don't hold a proper visa and not have an outward ticket.
That's just the reality. And they don't care about people's previous experiences with other airlines and routes.
How much chance you have being asked for an onward ticket or be let through depends on the airline and the route. So your experience is connected with certain airlines and routes.

Just spend $50 or less and get a real ticket.

Yes and no. No to the “fake” part because it’s not. Works like a charm, but you can also book it for free and cancel it within 24 hours, if you do it at the right place.
Those $10 tickets are often recommend on this and other groups. I doubt there's any issue with them. Airline would spend 5 seconds looking at it to confirm the date that's it. Immigration don't normally care unless you get flagged on their system for some reason.
