I have seen mentioned that a lot of Visa tasks can be done easier with an agent assistance. Is it possible to ask for recommendations of agents?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The thread discusses the convenience of hiring visa agents in Thailand, with users sharing their experiences and recommendations. Notably, several comments describe the necessary financial requirements for different visa types, such as having an 800k baht bank balance for retirement visas or alternative methods like the 65k monthly income requirement for a marriage visa. Recommendations for specific agents like Thai Visa Centre and MasterClass Translation are provided, along with insights into the bank account setup processes for expats.

I have a Bangkok Bank account opened in Airport Plaza in Chiang Mai y myself and a Kasikorn account which I opened in Cha Am. Didn’t have the smallest problem opening either. The Kasikorn account I use for housekeeping and was opened with 2000 bts and never had more than 10,000bts deposited
I shouldn’t for sure. However your point is good with regard to the 65k method is good. It actually makes sense financially as opposed to the 800k method which is financially foolish at best. And I’m Canadian, so the embassy issues a letter of affadavit instead of going thru the banking hassle every year.
yes, we call that anally retentive. We all have our crosses to bear. But the poster needs a reliable agent contact name. Not your assessment of their relationship to this page. Cheers
actually, Stuart Cumming posted in the last few days about using the correct words when it comes to Visas & Extensions, as using the correct words helps others, including Moderators to be able to provide correct and accurate responses.
I’m sure he did. As there are numerous explicit terms that need to be accurate with regard to visas. And Mr Cumming is certainly very knowledgeable!! This, however, is not one of those times.
You have the correct answer from TVC in the comments. And it makes no difference whatsoever.
Do you have 400k in a Thai bank account because, if so and you are married to a Thai, it's easy to do yourself

Depends. If you want a retirement visa you need to have 800k baht in a Thai bank account. Some people don't have 800k or they do not want to keep it in a Thai Bank account that pays very little or no interest. In which case they will pay an Agent to bribe Immigration. The hardest part is getting a Thai Bank account.
Go to the branch your thai wife uses with her your passport ,your marriage papers and her tabien bahn. Open a joint account with wife. (Doesn't mean you.need to actually use it though.) Then walk in next day with her and same paperwork, ask for a 2nd account in your name only. They'll have a tough time refusing you if you and wife already have accounts they approved.
