TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the appropriateness of seeking recommendations for agents who assist with B-visa and work permit extensions in Thailand. While some commenters recommend using agents due to their efficiency, others warn about potential risks, such as document mishandling and the dangers of becoming reliant on agents. A few specific agencies are mentioned as reputable options for handling these processes.

When a foreigner uses an agent inside Thailand, the following risks exist:
1. The agent loses the passport.
2. The agent may have a copy of the visa stamps and stamp the passport themselves illegally.
3. The agent may decide not to support the customer because they lost the contact within the immigration officer who issues the extension of stay.
4. The agent may steal the passport, other documents, or money from a foreigner’s bank account.
5. The extension of stay that was issued may be retroactively voided if the immigration officer is audited and falsified documents are discovered.
6. Once a foreigner starts using an agent, it is almost impossible to stop using the agent without leaving the country.
I never heard of anyone using an agent to acquire a Non-B/ One Year Extension of Stay Based on Employment either

hi trying to obtain a retirement visa . Struggling to open bank account . Am on a TR visa been here 12 days . Would the normal way of going about retirement visa to leave and return if you run out of time for the funds to be in bank ? So say two months others say three ? Any advice appreciated.
That's a small-ish island. If you attempted to open a bank account at all the banks there, you may have to go to the mainland, OR go to Phuket.
If one bank branch rejects an application to open an account, visit another bank branch. Most bank branches operate in shopping malls or department stores. Opening a regular savings account should not cost more than 1,000 THB for a minimum opening deposit, however other accounts may have different opening requirements. There are over 6,000 bank branches in Thailand, and there will be a bank that is willing to open an account. A bank at Central Festival in Phuket should allow a person to open an account easily.
I shouldn't have to say it, but foreigner attempting to open a bank account should dress modestly. Males should wear closed covered shoes, long, respectful pants that covers the knees, a shirt that covers the shoulders and does not show the stomach, and is respectful design. Females should wear closed covered shoes, either long pants or a modest skirt but not yoga pants, and a top that covers the shoulders and midriff. Sandals, swimming shorts, or tops that do not cover the shoulders should not be worn inside a bank. I also recommend letting them know you'll deposit the 800K THB in the bank as soon as the account is open.
Very good recommendations.... Farangs often forget the dress code etiquette here in the land of smiles is imperative in getting properly served. Great advice !
