Just to let everyone know: I went to Korat Immigration yesterday for my yearly extension on my non-immigrant O visa. I had all the papers( or so I thought) and I have to say the reception was fantastic. At a certain moment the officer discovered I had included a copy of my rental contract of last year, and she and her superior went out of their way to help me. They contacted my landlady and asked her to send over a photo of this year's contract, printed it out in the office and added it to the file! Saved me a trip to Phimai and back.
One thing though, she said that next year I'd have to show the original owner's housebook as well. We'll have to see what we can do about that.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A resident shared their positive experience renewing their Non-Immigrant O visa at Korat Immigration, highlighting the helpfulness of the staff. They encountered an issue with an outdated rental contract but received assistance in obtaining the current one. The officer advised that next year they would need to present the original owner's housebook, noting that requirements can vary by immigration office.

I went for my marriage 0 visa at jomtiem and my copy of the owners bluebook only said she lived there and not the owner. so refused. So far she has not responded to eails about sendong the blue book with OWNER name ...something to check before you go immigration. Now will go to Lao for the non-o imm marriad 90 day but will have same problem when extending to a year maybe?
i guess when you went to see about applying for the non-imm-o married to a Thai, you might have visited immigration too late, i.e. because you can do the application only with a minimum of 15 days left on the expiry date of your current stay permit . . and the housebook issue got onto the top of it
each immigration office has their own implementation and requirements are slightly different. Requirements at Office A may not satisfy requirements at Office B.
debate or comparing requirements between different offices wouldn't lead us anywhere unfortunately.
