What should I do if I get a new passport while registered for online 90-day reporting on a Non O visa in Thailand?

Has anyone had the experience of getting a new passport issued, having already been registered for online 90 day reporting on a Non O visa based retirement with their old passport number?

I will do my first report at immigration with my TM30 updated to the new passport number.

Just wondering if they update the online TM47 on the old account (passport number) so that it can be continued to be used.

Or whether a new registration is required

Thank in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
After obtaining a new passport while registered for 90-day reporting on a Non-O visa, you must complete an in-person report at immigration to update your records. The TM47 system does not automatically accommodate new passport details, so it's essential to present your new passport along with any required documentation, including a letter from your passport issuer. After this initial in-person visit, you will be able to continue reporting online. Make sure to keep copies of both your old and new passports for future reference.

Yip as said you apply & get your new passport, normally with letter, straight into immigration its free, they swap your existing visa into your new passport, with mine they added old visas across to show ive had visas a long time only on 2 pages, in theory your old passport is non valid, so its a must to get visa swapped over

When you get your new passport, it will include a letter to submit to immigration. At Thai immigration, they will redo your stamps. I also suggest on your first renewal of retirement visa, make copies of both old and new passport. I went through this about 2 years ago when I renewed my passport.

, Thanks, I have the new extension of stay in my new passport plus they put a square stamp in it that is marked copy all around it and gives the date of my Non O original entry, which marries up with the original Non O page on my old passport

So presumably it's already done.

But I will take copies and old passport along for sure

few if any embassies here give the "letter" when you get a new passport anymore. AND while you should present it if you got one from your embassy when you got the new passport the O/P is asking about the 90 day reporting AFTER they get a new passport

You must complete a 90-day report in person once after you get a new passport. Then you can do it online afterwards. TM47 system doesn't support new passports

This is the notification you can check from the Immigration Bureau website. When you click the "90 DAYS ONLINE NOTIFICATION" banner from immigration.go.th, you see a pop-up for a note.
