Hi everyone!

Due to a miscalculation, I'll be overstaying my visa exemption for 3 days (I have double nationality and thought both Italian passport and Argentinian would give 90 days, but Italian is only 30 and entered with Italian). Is there any way and I avoid the 1,500 baht fee when flying out?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has mistakenly overstayed their visa exemption for 3 days due to a misunderstanding of the duration allowed with their Italian passport. They seek advice on how to avoid the 1,500 baht fee for overstaying when departing. The responses outline several options: do nothing and pay the fee, get a 30-day extension at immigration, or exit Thailand to re-enter and obtain a new 30-day visa exemption stamp, depending on their travel history.

You have two (possibly three) choices

-Do nothing, get a 3 day overstay stamp in your passport and pay 1500baht

-go get a 30 day extension for 1900baht at the immigration office BUT don't get an overstay stamp in your passport

and the possible 3rd choice

-go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country and stamp back into thailand to get a NEW 30 day visa exempt entry stamp <- which you could do ONLY if you didn't get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land so far this year..

The fact you hold dual nationality doesn't mean anything at all :/

Good Luck, those are the only choices.

Just pay up and use your other passport next time.

Did you already get a 30 day extension on your current 30 day visa exempt entry?

Nico Vercesi NEVER OVERSTAY ! PERIOD

And you will pay 1,500 Thai baht for a 3 day overstay if you make it to the airport. No getting out of paying the 1,500 Thai baht.

@Ni**
BUT it wouldn't put an overstay stamp in your passport ;)

Nope, the stamp says sep 10 and my flight is sep 13. From what I read, extending it to 30 day would be more expensive...
