What are my chances of re-entering Thailand on a tourist visa after my Muay Thai visa expires and while waiting for a DTV?

Hello! I am currently on a legitimate Muay Thai visa (I go nearly every day) and my girlfriend is teaching here. We are thinking of going home to our home country for a month or so once my Muay Thai visa ends and then applying for the DTV. If we don’t get the DTV what do you think the chances are of being Ley back in just on a tourist so we can like empty our house here and tie up loose ends?

Our visa history is 6 month multiple entry (before DTV) then we went our respective education and woek visas and that’s it, no border runs or anything like that.

Thoughts ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a legitimate Muay Thai visa and plans to apply for a DTV after returning home for a month. They are concerned about the possibility of not obtaining the DTV and whether they can return on a tourist visa to finish up their affairs in Thailand. Comments suggest that re-entry on a tourist visa is feasible, especially if they ensure they have a valid tourist visa and properly cancel their current visa before leaving. Overall, there is optimism about obtaining the DTV.

Being denied for won't prevent you from coming back. I was denied and am currently here.

Safest bet is to get a tourist visa.

I think you would be fine. I also think you will get the DTV if you qualify so the issue will not arise. Good luck.

You can come back just make sure you have at least a tourist visa; don’t come back on exemption entry I mean…
