Hello friends,

I’m currently on a work permit and want to move to DTV as I’m not working anymore.

✨I am leaving Thailand on 15/7

✨My work visa ends 1/9 even though my business has another year.

✨I come back via Bangkok 29/9

I plan to go to apply for a DTV in a neighbouring country in October.

My question is - will I have problems entering the country on 29/9?

Can I enter as a tourist?

Will I have problems?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to leave Thailand and apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) after their work visa expires. They inquire about re-entering Thailand as a tourist after their work visa ends. Responses indicate that the user can enter Thailand as a tourist on 29/9, as their work visa will have expired prior to their return. It is recommended to manage the cancellation of the work permit properly.

If your work permit is cancel or not doesn't matter if your visa is single entry it is canceled when you leave. It's up to your company to cancel your work permit. Then you can re enter on visa exempt or whatever

Hi Natalie! From our experience assisting DTV applicants:

Yes, you can enter Thailand as a tourist on
****
since your work visa would have expired before your return.

Many of our DTV applicants have followed a similar route.. cancelling, exiting and then re-entering on a tourist stamp before applying from a neighboring country.

We've successfully assisted over 110 applicants in the past 3 months with their DTV visa application so we are quite familiar with the process, feel free to ask anymore questions you have!

If you are no longer working you should already have cancelled your work permit and associated extension of stay and left the country. Not cancelling it means you are on overstay
