Hi, I currently have an education visa which expires on 16th May. If the new amnesty until 31st July comes into force, would it be best to let my education visa expire?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering whether to let their education visa, which expires on May 16, lapse in light of a new amnesty until July 31. A comment suggests it would be better to obtain the necessary documents from their school and apply for an extension instead.

no it would be good for you to get the documents from your school and go get an extension like you're supposed to

Luke, you trusted the word of a guy manning an information booth? Risky.

Same problem my ed visa canceled on march 30.and they permitted me to until 16 April. when I go to immigration to extend my visa they ask me ah letter from my embassy unfortunately my embassy can't issue because of the amnesty. and they told me that I'm safe until 30/April.now my problem is what is my visa today if they cancel my ed visa?

Gordon, my ED Visa expires tomorrow. I went to change to covid Visa today. Long story short, blanket amnesty covers expiring ED visas. Per Phuket immigration.

Knowing that every office is different, if you can make it to the office, you might want to verify with your office before your Visa expires.
