My visa is due to expire on the 8th May and after closing my company and work permit expiring was going to return back to Australia for a short period and return to organise my marriage visa. Obviously not an option right now.
Do i need to cancel this current visa to be eligable for the amnesty or can i let it expire and be covered until i can return home. Have been told several different answers. Thank you for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they need to cancel their current visa to qualify for the visa amnesty in Thailand, considering their work permit has expired and they planned to return to Australia before organizing a marriage visa. A comment advises that cancellation of the work permit is required to qualify for the amnesty, allowing the user to stay in Thailand until July 31.
On the last day you work, you need to cancel your work permit and extension of stay based on employment/ owning a company. You will then be on the amnesty, and you can stay until July 31.
