TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users suggest that hiring an agent is not necessary for applying for a dependent or guardian visa in Thailand. It is noted that the initial Non-O visa cannot be issued in-country for guardians or dependents; one has to enter Thailand on a Non-O visa first. After entering, extensions can be applied for if financial requirements are met. Users generally find the process manageable without an agent, especially if financial stability is demonstrated.

It's easy enough to do yourself. As long as you have money anything is possible in Thailand.

Not even sure an agent could help on that. You generally can’t get the initial Non O issued in country for guardian or dependents.

You come in on a non O and then you can extend for a year if you meet the financial requirements (for a guardian).
