I am in the process of starting applying for Thai Visa. My wife is Thai national and we are married in California(not married in Thailand). I am planning to travel to thailand and stay there as long as I can(I actually live there for the last 8 year and just got back to CA and need to return back to BKK). I am a bit confuse with "For the Purpose of Visit" which Should I choose? 60 days stay with family or 90 days STV? Btw, I do have Krungsri Bank account with 400k over 7 months.

STV>>advantages and disadvantages?

60 days>>ad/dis?

Thank you for your inputs.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether to apply for a 60-day visa to visit family or a 90-day Special Tourist Visa (STV) for returning to Thailand, as they are married to a Thai national and have lived there previously. Comments suggest opting for the 60-day visa due to less hassle, easy extension options, and the ability to transition to a marriage visa after arrival, especially since they hold a Thai marriage certificate. There is also a mention of challenges accessing the Thai visa application website.

Yes. I applied for 90 day Non-O based on marriage while in the US and then will get the one year extension in Thailand.

60 days a lot less hassle and you can sort marriage visa after arrival. Can be extended 30 days once here

If your plan is to transition to a marriage or retirement visa in Thailand, you cannot do that from an STV.
