Hello ,

I want your advice.

I am going to Thailand from Sweden on January 6 .

Then I am going for a short trip to Penang Malaysia, on January 10 to January 15 ,then going back to stay in Thailand til March 15 returning to Sweden again.

Should I apply for Tourist visa now, or can i go without visa getting 60 days as a Swede , renewed 60 days when returning from Penang Malaysia on January 15th??

Or what is your advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning a trip to Thailand from Sweden and is unsure whether to apply for a Tourist visa or to take advantage of the visa exemption for 60 days. The advice given suggests that obtaining a Tourist visa is unnecessary, as the user will receive a 60-day visa exemption upon entry to Thailand on January 6, which can be renewed for another 60 days upon returning from Malaysia.

Your plan is that of a normal tourist. You will have no difficulty on getting a 60 day Visa Emempt stamp when you arrive on 6 Jan and another 60 day visa Exempt stamp when you return on 15 Jan.

A tourist visa wouldn't benefit you. You would get 60 days when you entered and then that would be invalidated when you left 4 days later. Paying for a visa for 4 days would be pretty wasteful.
