If u planning to apply from Malaysia it’s not fastest way to get DTV visa, at least it will take two weeks to process the application

I read stories here from people

Who get their dtv in 24 hours from Vietnam

So better option doing that from Vietnam I guess

more days to explore Malaysia:)

TLDR : Answer Summary
Applying for a DTV visa from Malaysia can take at least two weeks, making it a slower option compared to Vietnam, where some applicants have received their visas in as little as 24 hours. Many have noted that Vietnam, along with other countries like Laos and Cambodia, tends to have a more efficient process for visa applications. Additionally, timing related to flight departure may affect visa processing priorities, with quicker turnaround for those with imminent flights.

In Penang I was rejected (a few.months ago) because the money was in a broker account not in a "normal" bank.

Does the timing of your flight to Thailand affect the process? If you have a month until your flight, they treat your case with lower priority (and it takes more time). They prioritize those whose flights are in 1-2 weeks.

I’m asking because I have only a 2-week stay planned and a departure flight, and I’m wondering if that will be enough time.

they would not know when it’s your flight cause they open applications in order I guess so basically more time staying here if u lucky they will get to your order faster is that make sense

Malaysia is infamous for not being the easiest place to apply. Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Jakarta, Taipei are much better.

Well hopefully you are successful. It is always good to go somewhere new. Malaysia is a great country..go to Langkawi if you have the chance.

Singapore difficult too. Need to be long term resident ie PR, Employment Pass etc. Citizens of Singapore cannot apply in Singapore.

Singapore was always a strange Embassy. When I worked in Singapore there was always one particular member of staff mentioned on the message boards. She has to be gone now. I last dealt with them for a B Visa and they were efficient and pleasant.
