TLDR : Answer Summary
Inquiring about the DTV visa application process in Phnom Penh, including the necessary documentation and varying approval times, especially since they can differ by embassy. One comment notes that the embassy's website lists required documents and mentions a typical processing time of six days.

The embassy website will have what documents they require. They also have a 6 day processing time.

Will be applying soon, been doing requirements gathering. Actual requirements are so specific to the consulate.

Jakarta seems to be a good option, PP if you don’t mind the 6 business days processing.

thank you so much. I assume you have gotten your DTV?

@Zep *****
Try both, Jakarta seems to be more responsive from what others have said.

Also a shorter wait time there.

Just make sure to ask what documents need stamps/notarization.

thank you for the advise. I own a business. I will probably try to email the one at Jakarta or PP which I will be heading over.

It will depend on what grounds you’re applying and then what your situation is.

Remote worker for example could be employee for someone else, could mean you own your own business, and they’ll probably want different documents for each.

Need to be specific about your situation, then contact the consular services for various embassies.

Some don’t seem to reply, others do.

The one in Vientiane has been very good at responding to emails regarding the visa requirements.

- Keep us updated once you go. Hope it goes smoothly. Also, make sure your phone number (and email) is clear on the written application. My understanding is that if they need additional documents, etc., they will contact you and inform you. Much better than having to wait the 6 days and learn that they need more, and you then have to stay even longer, just because someone couldnt decipher your hand writing.

I am probably gonna stay in the hotel and work. Thank you so much for the tips. Maybe we could connect in Thailand sometime.

@Zep *****
- Just remember, you dont have your passport the entire time, so that can make moving around (switching hotels, going to other cities) a little difficult.

as I have a trip planned to PP so I was thinking might as well have it done in PP in Sept but Jakarta is in my consideration as well as the process is only 3 working days.
John *******
@Zep *****
- Only downside with PP, is it takes 6 work days. People who have gone to Vietnam and Laos seem to be able to get it processed quicker (have not looked at Jakarta). So that is something to factor in, are you willing to sit around PP for 8 day (including the weekend).

ideally yes I was thinking so but if it’s not ready by September I probably will apply in Jakarta which has been proven or PP.

- Suggest contacting the embassy before spending the time/money to travel to Cambodia. Might be able to do in Singapore. Similar to Cambodia, Cambodia for a while had no mention of DTV on their web page but did on Facebook. Now Cambodia does mention on web page. I just think they might be slow in updating the official page though. It would be kind of strange that one embassy "isnt ready" when it seems like all others can.

weirdly based on some users from Singapore say about a week ago, they were reject as well mentioning the DTV is not yet ready for Singapore.

- They posted this on their Facebook page in July.

yes DTV is not ready yet for Singapore.

@Zep *****
- Did the embassy in Singapore tell you they are not accepting applications for DTV?

I have seen (other embassies) sometimes with people who own their own companies, they were still required to write themselves a letter. It sounds stupid, but you might want to do that as well, in addition to company registration details.

base on what I see on the embassy website now, my home country does not need a residential prove. I own a business so I probably I have to provide my company registration details from my home country instead of an employment letter.

@Zep *****
- My opinion though, they were focused on the employment letter and bank statements. They seemed confused by my rental agreement at first, even though, I had everything labeled with sticky notes. My limited understanding is that the proof of location requirement is more geared towards the electronic visa process, as a way to attempt to verify that the person is in fact within that jurisdiction. With the in-person process, it is clear that you are present, by the fact that you showed up to the embassy/consulate.

@Zep *****
they can use your Cambodia passport entry stamp and hotel/accommodation for residency purposes.

@Zep *****
, with this embassy, all you can do is try. I had emailed them and tried to call in advance and never got anyone. When there in person, they wouldn’t really answer any questions, and I had my Thai partner with me trying to ask in Thai as well.

IC. My concern is just the proof of residency and my country Singapore have not yet approve the DTV so some of my fellow Singaporeans had to apply the DTV in other countries.
John *******
@Zep *****
the staff didn’t say much when dropping documents off or picking up. I however did supply 6 months of bank statements and my apartment lease for my apartment in Phnom Penh.

Thank you so much. Any specific documents required? Some embassy require say 3 months statements and some 6 months statement as well as proof of residency for some of the consulates.

@Zep *****
I was approved. Very straight forward, just takes 6 work days
