TLDR : Answer Summary
The user visited the Jomtien immigration office for a 60-day COVID visa extension and was advised to return on June 17 for potential updates, as their current visa expires on June 23. A commenter noted that there is nothing official confirmed yet regarding the extension deadline, suggesting that announcements may come at short notice.

Nothing official yet no. If recent history is anything to go by then don't expect an official announcement until a day beforehand or even on the day itself.

We went to get 60 day extentions and got under consideration stamps until June 22.

ok thanks, you are very close to the expiry date of your previous visa, i would like to know if someone else like me went a long time before the expiration date, because after march 28th we do not officially know if this covid extension will still apply
Kevin *******
Ty does the 60 days get added to the June 21 taking you to August 21 or when they approve you on June 21 will it be 60 days from when you went last Monday?

@Kevin ******
it depends on the type of previous visa. if you had previously completed a covid extension, the 60 days start from the date on which the previous extension expired, the date of under consideration or in which you present yourself have no value

ORIGINAL POSTER
so you mean they will apply the extension on June 17th even though the current deadline to apply of May 28th will not be extended?

you didn't understand my situation, my previous covid extension expires on June 23 after getting previously under consideration. Now I want to apply a new covid extension but the official deadline to apply it is May 28th, they told me to come back on June 17th because the deadline of May 28th will be extended again, but it's not official, as they can know, they have the sphere of crystal? I would have the right to apply before May 28th

in all other immigrations throughout Thailand you can apply the extension one month before the expiry of your current visa. only jomtien tell you to come back a week before your current visa expires. explain why?

@Paolo ***********
that's how it works in Thailand. Every office and even every individual officer interprets the rules differently. Going back again couldn't hurt though.

you are right, I will try with another employee because this morning at 10.30 am I had delivered all the documents, they checked them and told me to come back to get the visa at 1pm today for overcrowding, but then another employee at 1pm told me to come back on June 17th, so it really depends on who I find at the check-in desk

@Ty *****
how can they be sure that the deadline will be extended again if nothing is official? do they have hidden information?
Paolo ************

Maybe it's better that I go to immigration again and insist on getting my visa applied before the end of this week

@Paolo ***********
You cant insist on anything at Immigration. If the covid stamp isnt extended then you wont be entitled to it, if it is extended then you've got no problems.

the rules say I can extend a month before my previous visa expires, but jomtien suggests 1 week before and they send me away, this is not legal so I'll come back to ask for the extension on Thursday because tomorrow it's closed, it's my right in compliance with the rule

FFS. You're talking complete bollocks! What rule? What rights? The 'covid extention' is a different animal.
