I’m sure it’s been asked before but I’m not sure what keywords to type in to look for it. With this said, I’d like to know if there’s a way around having 15k in my bank account to get my DTV. My wife and I plan to move to Thailand mid April and live for a few years to teach at schools in rural area. Please let me know what to do

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about bypassing the 15,000 THB bank account requirement for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) to live and teach in Thailand. However, multiple comments clarify that the DTV is not suitable for those looking to work, as it does not permit employment. Instead, they recommend obtaining a Non-B visa and a work permit to legally teach in the country. The conversation stresses the importance of researching visa options and complying with legal requirements.
Thank you to those who have been helpful. I am still learning as I go and I’m not trying to do anything illegally. I saw on another social platform that there were other ways around this but I did not know it was illegal. I’m also still learning which permit would best fit me.
Anonymous participant The only 100% legal way is to obtain a work permit and register your work under it. Many agents may offer various solutions, but in most cases, they are not operating legally themselves.
