Is there a timeframe between when you get your new work permit and when you get your new Non B visa?

My WP is currently off being renewed (expires 20 Dec) and my current visa expires 3 Jan. I'm hoping to get my new WP next week but need to arrange some work appointments and would like to know if there are restrictions - for example you have a week from getting WP to get new visa?

Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The timeframe for obtaining a new Non-B visa after receiving a new work permit in Thailand can vary depending on your specific circumstances. While there is no universally fixed duration, it is crucial to be mindful of the expiration dates of both your work permit and current visa. If your work permit is renewed and received, you typically need to apply for your new visa promptly but may have a little flexibility depending on the immigration policies, such as whether you have an Extension of Stay and if you report to the Immigration Office.

That depends on your visa. Do you have an Extension of Stay based on Working from Immigration Office and report every 90 days at Immigration.Or are you on the visa bought from a Thai Consulate

Than I would say visit the Immigration Office, ask the hand out with requirements for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on working in Thailand. Cost of this Extension of Stay is just 1.900 Thb.

Your lawyer should know if your employer can meet the requirements of the Immigration Office, if they can not than you need indeed a new visa from abroad.

thank you. My lawyer told me I have to leave the country to get a new visa (?) Anyway I need a mini holiday ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thanks, you can stay till the admitted until date. Before that date you can or apply at local Immigration office for a 1 year Extension of Stay based on working or leave Thailand and apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa at a Thai Consulate.
