When you apply for a work permit, do they do the Non-Imm B visa extension on the same day?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a work permit (WP) in Thailand, the Non-Imm B visa extension is not issued on the same day. It's common for applicants to receive their work permit after a processing period of at least 7 days, during which they may only receive a stamp extending their stay for an additional 30 days if all paperwork is correct. Applicants must ensure they have the necessary documents from their employer to avoid complications.
I would say we've taken this about as far as we can.
And remember you can't legally work without BOTH the Non-B and a work permit (which means IF you were working on the Non-B that expires tomorrow you were doing so illegally)
You need to go to a thai consulate and buy a tourist visa OR border-bounce at a land crossing and get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp (IF you haven't gotten two 30 day visa exempt entries by land this year already ;)) .
Then you get the paperwork together and go buy another 90 day, single entry Non-B visa.
nope, there is no 7 day extension, that is an application for extension denied 7 day stamp to LEAVE the country not to buy you more time to get your documentation straightened out
When you apply for the extension they stamp you for ANOTHER 30 days so you can be here while your application is under consideration. BUT that's only if all the paperwork is correct, if you're missing something you're gonna be between a rock and a hard place.
But you can apply for the extension right up until the last day left on your stamp if you need to. The reason most people apply early is that extensions based on employment are document intensive and if you're missing a document you have time to get it rather than run out of time and go on overstay or have to leave the country and start all over with a new Non-b
In order to get an extension you're going to need your work permit and a pile of paperwork from your employer too. You can apply for the extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current 90 day stamp.
Many times the first application for an extension goes under consideration for 30 days and then you go back and get the year extension inked into your passport.
Remember without the work permit you can't legally work here. So I'd get ahold of your company to see where it is.
Didn't you already apply for a work permit? Unless I'm wrong you needed the receipt of having applied for one to get the non-B from the thai consulate.
Well I also have always had my Non B before applying for the work permit.... then got that here later. Always done in Melbourne for many a year... and as recently as a few months ago... but for various reasons this lapsed before I could get the WP.... so am about to go out to get the Non B in Lao shortly. Maybe I now need to do the WP application first???
