TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks recommendations for a reliable agent in Korat for navigating immigration and obtaining a driving license, highlighting the user's preference for assistance despite having a Non-O visa. Comments suggest using an agent can be wise due to potential complications at immigration, ask about local Facebook groups for referrals, and mention specific services offered by agencies, including costs and necessary documentation for driving license conversion.

That is what the agency is asking for. Your national and Intnl driving license, a proof of residence in Thai.
Henrik *****
It may take months to book a driving test.

An agency said, 4,400 THB, converting a Western driving license, only eye and reflex test. No exams. Other things (you have a residence certificate, at least retirement O visa, they sort it out. After 2 hours you walk out with a Thai driving license.

I see that agents meet you at the immigration office and I know that helps I am in samui the 1st week but as my mother in law lives in Khon Buri I heard I have to do it in the area and may need the house book but my name is not in there ...but I do have my Thai marriage certificate and my wife will be with me with her id card

I've heard that Korat immigration is a nightmare, so using an agent is probably a smart thing.

Very strange. Used it 8 times already. Only one time it took 2,5 hours because of a truckload of imm. with an Agent. Did not see complaints. Which group ?
Max *************
@Peter ***************
Do you think 2.5 hours is ok? My extensions at Jomtien immigration takes less than 10 min every year.
Peter ****************
@Max ************
1 time in 8 years ? Is that already a problem for you ? Normally 30 minutes to one hour.
