Is tm-30 needed for visa stay exemption extension ? My accommodation said they do not provide this form
Answer summary
The TM30 form is a standard requirement for foreigners staying in Thailand, and many immigration offices insist on its submission for processing visa stay exemption extensions. However, the necessity of having a TM30 receipt can vary by immigration office, with some being stricter than others. In situations where landlords refuse to provide this documentation, expats might have options such as filing it themselves or staying temporarily in a hotel to obtain the necessary proof of accommodation. Overall, it's advisable to check with the specific immigration office regarding their requirements.

(a) If it is a hotel or B&B style accommodation then the business owner is obligated to file.
(b) if you stayed at someone's house or apartment, then that property owner or lessee is responsible for filing.
(c) But if you have a lease (and thus sole possession), then you are ultimately responsible for filing your own TM30 reports as "possessor".
