Sorry if this question has been asked previously.

Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card required when doing the 180 day renewal in the Jomtien Immigration Office? My research shows this is not a requirement but keen for confirmation from you all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the necessity of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) for a 180-day visa renewal at the Jomtien Immigration Office. Responses indicate that while the TDAC may not always be required, the extension process can be complex and requires substantial documentation similar to the initial application. One user shared that Jomtien Immigration does not handle these renewals due to paperwork difficulties, suggesting it may be easier to leave the country and re-enter for a new entry stamp.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

An update on this for future reference. I visited immigration in Jomtien today to review the document requirements for the DTV 180 day renewal at the immigration office to be told they do not do this renewal because of the amount of paperwork needed. Now I am booking flights to Vietnam!

@Richard *****
that's one way for them to "encourage" people to just bounce out/back and get a new 180 day stamp rather than try for the extensions in country πŸ™‚

It sure is
@T**
and now it’s costing a small fortune every 6 months. Sadly the Cambodia boarder crossings are not recommended so it’s a flight to Vietnam, accomodation, Vietnam Visa + transport $$&

here's a thought, how about just flying to a country you get in to for FREE, like round trip KL Malaysia, or Singapore πŸ˜‰

No sense going to a country you have to BUY a visa to get into πŸ™‚

tada, no surprise.

You are correct, you can get ONE 180 day extension per entry on your DTV

BUT

I think even a brief perusal of the posts from people who've tried to get them will show that you are definitely going to be doing a LOT of hoop jumping to get one issued

It's going to require the same documentation you used when you applied for the initial DTV (where ever you got it)

AND

all the in country documentation you need (DTV print out, lease/TM30, 90 day report receipt, bank records, proof you're still doing what ever you said you do to get the DTV issued, etc)

It is FAR easier to just fly out/back to get a new 180 day entry stamp

Thanks
@T**
I actually have all of the same documents as when I first applied back in November 2024.

@Richard *****
The same documents won't really cut it. They will want updated documents saying that you are still working and you're still authorized and blah blah blah blah blah.

@Richard *****
you'll also need a bank statement showing you have 500K baht in a bank account for the last 30 days before you apply for the extension, as well as the documents I mentioned earlier.

You would be doing yourself a favor to slog on over to your immigration office and get the actual hand out listing the requirements to get that DTV extension well before your current stamps starts running out

Remember at most offices you can apply for a new extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp and you lose no time applying early because they add the extension to your current expiration date
Tod *********
as far as a TDAC you could be asked for that for the extension IF you entered the country on or after the 1st of May 2025 when the TDAC program started.
Wannikea *********
Why are you doing an in country extension? Is it extremely necessary? Not recommended as it's basically reapplying for the visa, plus plus plus.

For somebody on a Workaytion it should be no issue. Saves time and cost. :-)

According to my research it is not required to leave Thailand for your 1st 180 day DTV renewal. I hope this to be correct!

@Richard *****
you can definitely apply for an extension in country, but it's a dog and pony show. Good luck. Don't leave it to the last minute in case things go south and you need to bounce.

I had to have a print out for an extension of a different visa 2 weeks ago in Chiang Mai. Like with most things it is often a different requirements at different offices plus the fact that many will not have completed a TDAC yet.
