TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion clarifies that there is no 30-day tourist visa; the standard is a 60-day tourist visa granted upon arrival. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is only required at the point of entry into Thailand and does not need to be filled out again for visa extensions.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be tdac.in.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

No. The TDAC is only needed for international arrivals

First of all, there is no such thing as a 30 day tourist visa. The tourist visa gives you 60 days on arrival, and you must apply for that and pay for it through a Thai embassy using the online e-visa system.

There is a visa exempt entry, which is not any visa at all. It's called visa exempt, you are exempt from needing a visa. This currently offers 60 days as well, but the government is discussing returning it back to 30 days.

Regardless of all of that, the TDAC is the Thailand Digital ARRIVAL card. It's for when you ARRIVE in Thailand. The ONLY time you do a TDAC is when you ARRIVE in Thailand.

okay , thx for the info mate. Yes, that's what I meant, a visa-free entry. Reason I asked was I'm expecting the return to the 30 day limit by the time I get back there in Augus. Cheers.

There is absolutely no indication that it will be changed by August or even anytime this year..

It's only under review at the moment so who knows what the outcome will finally be..

Just assume it's going to remain 60 days until you get official Thailand government information that states differently

slowly but surely …start reducing the 60 back to the 30 days for the obvious 2-3 countries the 60 days should never have been offered 60 days.

good idea that. I think Anglo countries should remain 60 days is best.

totally agree... I was trying to be a little 'vague' and not name the 2-3 countries, but think we all know which ones they are.

πŸ˜„ true that..knowing my luck they'll change it to 30 a week before I fly out, and then back to 60 when I fly back home..

@John ********
based on recent information about tourism dropping dramatically it is unlikely to change from 60 days.

thanks mate. I wonder if the drop is due to upcoming low season. Do u think the drop in numbers is across cross the board, or perhaps a particular nation, capital Beijing, that are visiting less frequently now?
Jo **********
@John ********
in the article I read it was many different factors.

they aren't changing it. If they were actually going to do it they would have done it right after the Songkran holiday ended, and the slow season started.
