Is the Thai Morchana app mandatory for travelers arriving in Thailand?
Did anyone else have to download the Thai Morchana app when they arrived at the hotel? It seems to track our location.

It depends what hotel/resort that you stay at. Some request it and some don’t. The only place that asked me was in Koh Chang.

I had to download the app or they refused the entry to the hotel.

it's pretty simple to download the app and not grant it permissions. It still functions in the way hotels occasionally require

Technically it is compulsory, yes many have had issues with it. But for me it was a simple process to do, just downloaded it and the hotel reception took a picture of the QR code it generates. They were then happy!

I have been here since December and never had to download the Mor chana or any other app. I have been all over Bangkok and to Suphan Buri Province and never been asked to show it or use it. You could always uninstall it I guess

It worked for me checking in with Sandbox but by all accounts it doesnt work often now.
