Onward Ticket Troubles

I just departed Denpasar Bali, on route to use my DTV for the first time.

Check in staff in Bali were totally confused by what my Thailand visa is and had many questions. 

It took 20 minutes and 3 staff debating in Bahasa, but after I signed a bunch of forms saying I will buy a ticket out of Thailand if rejected by immigration, I did get through. 

The next time, I’ll get a refundable onward ticket but was hoping to avoid the hassle. 

Do other experience the same?

I've did the Non-O recently in the UK.

For 3. They did not accept my Council Tax bill as they have done previously, they asked for the airline ticket as an additional document.

For 4. I used a savings account statement showing the last month with the required 400,000 , no seasoning required.

do you know if they accept a Thai bank account in London or does it need to be in UK bank account???? Tia

it has to be a UK/Irish Account, from their email requesting futher documents.

"Your recent official UK/Ireland bank statement SHOWS YOUR NAME, ADDRESS, and having the current balance of 400,000 THB (10,000 GBP) or monthly income of not less than 40,000 THB (1,000 GBP for the last 3 months). The screenshots are NOT accepted."

Reports are that you upload 3 months of bank statements BUT the 400K only needs to be in the bank on the date you apply <- meaning there is no seasoning requirement.

For sure Vientiane/Savannakhet both do it that way, hopefully some people who have used HCMC for Non-O thai family visas will weigh.

but when you apply for extension inside thailand, there is a seasoning requirement, right?
