Is the letter from the German embassy enough for my ED visa extension in Bangkok?

I received this letter as an e-mail attachment from the german embassy today. It seems really short and I'm not sure if it's enough to process the visa extension in Bangkok. And I'm here on an ED visa which will expire on April 4th. Is there someone who got his extension for an ED visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The letter from the German embassy may be sufficient for processing your ED visa extension in Bangkok. Experiences shared by others indicate that while few extensions are granted, some have had success. It's advisable to present the letter, which is official and personalized, to immigration, along with your school's documentation. However, be aware that the extension might only be for up to 30 days.

Normally you apply for Extension of Stay based on an Non Immigrant ED visa with documents of your school as you study at that school.

But you may try, you got the letter for the emergency extension of stay and you can apply at Immigration. Be aware it is only up to 30 days, not a long time to make alternative plans. Good luck.

I had not had the declaration from the German embassy (which is issued since yesterday) and was sent back in Koh Samui. They don’t care about the memorandum of 18.3.2020. There is no officer you can ask to consider under criteria 5.

Many times short and easy is better than long and difficult. And this letter is exactly the point. You don't need to make a story of it

Being German citizen as well ..that letter should be enough. It’s 1.) official 2.)personalized. That’s what the immigration requires.

Did you have to pay for it? We've send an Email to an office in phuket and they want US to pay over 800 Baht per person.

I guess they have poor English, so this is the most you can get from them.

I got the denial mail on the 19th of March. But today they confirmed on the phone they would give the declaration. I just spoke with the embassy. They send via mail.

I doubt 30 days is going to be enough to weather this storm but it's better than nothing.

Ha. We are on the same schedule. Mine after the 3 extensions also expires on the same date. I also got the letter from my embassy but I given up on getting answers for if it works with student visas, can't seem to get concrete answers.

I fortunately got my ED visa extended on 20 March with no hassle, other than the annoying westerner after me who thought it would help to get testy and insult the staff he blamed for the long lines forcing him to have a five day overstay.

Clarification: this was a scheduled renewal, not adding extra time to an expired visa.

you got your NORMAL ED visa extension with documents from the school OR you got a 30 day unable to travel due to covid-19 with the document from your embassy?

I have seen very FEW approvals with people on extensions of Non-Immigrant Type visas BUT that doesn't mean they don't issue it

I think you just need to go try to see if you can get it
