TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the possibility of obtaining a 30-day extension through an embassy letter after cancelling a Non-ED visa. It highlights that many have successfully secured this extension, but emphasizes that letting an extension run out differs from actively cancelling it. Importantly, obtaining a letter from the educational institution is necessary to facilitate the process, and one should consult with the local immigration office for specific requirements.
Letting an ED extension run out and cancelling one are NOT the same at all. Some offices won't issue the 30 day embassy request extension if you just let your extension run out on it's own and you need to get the document from your school, cancel the extension THEN apply for the 30 day visit family extension
Check with your immigration office AND have the document from the school stating you stopped studying on xxx date just in case
yes the people who went back in Aug and got the under consideration stamps, and then went back when they were due already got their extensions stamped in until Oct 26
