Can I re-enter Thailand after applying for an ED Visa in Ho Chi Minh and still get approved?

Hey there, I need a little bit help or some good advice.

I tried to apply in Germany a ED Visa for 6 month but they only gave me a 60 days tourist Visa until the 28 of December. They didn’t give me any explanation. My Thai school told me that that happened of the reason that I already did a Visa extend in the beginning of this year.

Now I want to try to apply my ED Visa again in Ho Chi Minh but not in between of the new year bc that cost me a lot of money, a lot of time(bc of the new year and the weekend) and I also would like to stay with my friends in the new year together. The question is if it’s possible that I’m leaving Thailand earlier in this year and also coming back in this year? Would they give me the ED Visa and let me in?

I hope someone can help me out!

Thanks in advance 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is facing challenges with their visa status after receiving a short tourist visa instead of an ED visa while in Germany. They want to know if leaving Thailand earlier this year and returning will allow them to successfully apply for the ED visa in Ho Chi Minh. Responses suggest options like applying for a 30-day visa extension and note the importance of previous visa history on ED visa approvals.

There is no one on this group who will tell you if you can get the ED visa when you apply or not. It comes down to your previous entry history.

More and more people who have histories of living here on visa exempt or tourist visa entries BEFORE they try to switch to ED visas are getting denied them.

All you can do is get the documents from your school, meet the requirements at the consulate you're applying at and hope for the best

it is not really clear, It looks like you are inside Thailand at the moment and used your Single Entry Tourist Visa to get an Admitted until

/2019 or did you already visit your local Immigration Office and applied for a 30 day Extension of Stay? You can apply for one 30 day Extension of Stay on each NEW entry with a Visa Exempt or Tourist visa.

So you got a 60 days tourist visa and extend it for an other 30 days......then after that you have to leave to buy a new one may be in Penang , this can be extend for 30 days as well so you have 6 month

You could also apply for a 30 day extension (1900 Baht) on your tourist visa and then go and apply for the ED visa in January. That way you can avoid travelling abroad during new year and you don't "waste" days on your tourist visa by leaving early.
