Hi everyone, I'm in the middle of applying for my non o visa from Canada . I'm due to arrive in Thailand October 21. Is it too early to apply now. Also regarding the bank statement for proof of funds, can I cross out the account number for security reasons. Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around applying for a NON-O visa from Canada, specifically questions about the timing of the application and the formatting of financial documents. It is noted that applying now is not too early as the visa is valid for 90 days upon issuance. Additionally, it is acceptable to redact sensitive information, such as bank account numbers, on proof of funds documents.

Sorry can I jump in with a quick question?

I am in Canada also and will be applying ?

How long does the process take after applying?

I applied for my non o visa 2 months in advance. Double the time in case they refused the application so I could send it off again within time for my flight

In regards to the bank statements , I didn't need to sign them. Just a printed up to date statement showing enough funds to take care of yourself for 3 months. I am from UK

I assume your funds are from your uk bank account.

yes. I just showed them an up to date bank balance.

A non-O visa is valid to enter Thailand for 90 days. So if you apply and receive it now, you would be able to use it until November. So no, it's not too early.

And yes, you can redact sensitive information from your financial documents.

Does proof of financial status need to be issued officially by a bank? Is a printed monthly bank statement sufficient?

@Ken ******
download the PDFs to your computer then upload to application website. It is not too early to apply.

@Ken ******

they require official bank statement signed each page by bank officials, although nothing was checked by i.o. when I went to DMK airport last month.

I don't know a single embassy that requires that for a visa application.
