Am I correctly preparing to apply for a 90-day Non-Immigration O visa in Thailand?

Hi there, trying to find out if I'm on the right path ... ;)

I'm a german citizen, just turned 50, living in a town house in Bangkok with thai friends and currently staying on a 30-day-extension of my tourist visa, valid until december 4th.

I plan to apply for a 90-day non-immigration O based on being 50 years old in Chaeng Wattana later this week. I'll have the required 800 k in my thai bank account and will go to Bangkok Bank tomorrow to ask for the letter of proof of funds. As I understand I will not need any police or medical check. Just the usual copies and an updated bankbook from the same morning I apply.

Concerning the proof of adress, my thai friend has a rental contract for the town house where we're staying, but it expired like 3 years ago. do I need a copy of the contract to show immigration or is it enough if she - being the house master - just fills out the notification form for my place of residence, together with a signed copy of her ID?

hope someone here can advise me if all this sounds fine or if there are any issues that might cause a problem. big thanks in advance :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a 50-year-old German citizen residing in Bangkok, is preparing to apply for a 90-day non-immigration O visa based on age. They have confirmed they meet the financial requirement of having 800,000 THB in their Thai bank account. The user inquired about the necessary documentation for proof of address, given that their friend's rental contract has expired. Users in the comments advise ensuring proper TM30 registration and suggest obtaining a current bank letter on the same day of the application to avoid issues.

When I last used banked money for my 50 plus exemption the letter I had from the bank from the day previous was not acceptable.

I had to go down to the banks in CW, make a transaction on the account and get a letter and signed statement from the bank in CW to prove that the account was live and the money there at actual time of application.

So beware.

WOW, I've had a LOT of people use the banked money method and they always got their bank letter a day or three before we went to CW. Other than having to update their bank book on the day we applied (to show the money is still there and was for the required amount of time) I've never had them not accept a bank letter.

Sorry that happened to you..

Tod Daniels well I can only tell you what happened to me, albeit a year ago now, which pushed me to the affidavit route, which is now an option being removed for me.

I believe you are incorrect
@John ****
, Bank letters are accepted out at Chaengwattana for 7 days from the date they are issued BUT as
@Peter *******
pointed out you need to update the bank book (and make copies of it) on the date you apply for the extension

not since I stay at this place (3 years now). chaeng wattana never asked for anything when I used this adress for extensions and explained that Iโ€™m staying at my friends house

Have you been booked in on a tm30 at immigration by your landlord or yourself? They will not allow you to stay anywhere without a tm30.... they will fine you first with 1600 baht if you did not.....

@Steve ****
If you have questions yourself, you open a new topic. Asking different question about different documents in different cities only makes one topic to much confusing when people try to understand the answers.

okay chiang mai is different! How can you get proof of address if you are not booked in? And get drivers licence or bank account and visa etc?

He is in Bangkok, different enforcement of the address registration.
