Hey all,

is it right now possible to border bounce by ourselves?

My husband and I wanted to do a world trip, which ended in a longterm stay (6 months) in Thailand.

Now we are not sure if we stay really longterm and get a DTV or leave in 2-3 months.

As we have two dogs a border bounce by plane is not an option.

So we would drive by car and try to get a new visa stamp, without crossing with our dogs to avoid getting the export papers for them.

Is that currently possible, as many of you tell about struggles with border bounces?

Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of performing a border bounce by car in Thailand without taking their dogs, as they are considering staying long-term or leaving in a few months. Comments from the community raised concerns about the risks associated with independent border bounces, especially with pets, suggesting the use of professional transport services to ensure safety and compliance with immigration regulations.

Seems hairbrained scheme with respect to the dogs, and the risk of losing them. There will be a Thai record of you importing two dogs then leaving Thailand without the two dogs. You might even find that customs might fine you. When you import the animals, you post a bond guaranteeing you will take them out of Thailand after 6 months. Leaving Thailand without the animals might raise a huge red flag, leading to them being seized as goods.

Border bounces are run by companies now ,who pre approved passports and pay for the service with immigration officers ,so the immigration officers are not going to be pro independent border bouncers ,just do it in a day guaranteed ,it's easy ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

If you get someone to take care of your dogs you can do a safe border bounce through a professional landborder transport company in one day.

Border bounce on your own could be a bit risky as some border points demand one or two nights out for foreigners doing border bounce on their own.

Why would you even risk it given all the stories of people being denied entry doing border bounces, especially if you'll have dogs. Just use a border bounce agency that leaves in the morning and ensures you'll get out and back in without issues. You'll be back home by the afternoon with a new stamp in your passport.
