TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV medical visa does exist for medical treatment in Thailand, but it is necessary to have a treatment plan signed by a recognized doctor at a Thai medical facility, indicating a duration longer than six months. This typically requires an initial visit to Thailand for examination before receiving the treatment plan. The DTV visa can indeed be for up to 5 years, allowing for travel back and forth for treatments.

You can get a DTV for medical treatment but you need a treatment plan for longer than 6 months signed off by a recognised doctor at the facility where you will get the treatment. That normally means you need to travel to Thailand for them to examine you and then come up with the treatment plan

Anonymous participant So you have the whole of Bangkok really. My pal is an Oncologist in Singapore and has contacts here. I remember a workshop he ran here when he was working on Therapeutic Cancer Vaccines. Trials were run here. Then he worked on Keytruda. The private hospitals are work class but govt hospitals often have same Dr's

this is going to fck up DTV. People trying to get it for a one or two visit to dentist or doctor. There is no reason you need it for a dentist unless you are having face reconstruction

Muay thai and cooking classes are what will fk it up. Not dental implants which take 4 to 9 months and cost 100k baht.

It's more difficult now to get a DTV visa for medical care. Suggest you look at a soft power activity.
